TEACHABLE MOMENTS CHILDREN’S CENTER COVID-19 POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Before Entering our Center

• Please be advised that bringing your child to school puts them at the risk of being exposed to COVID-19. 

• If you or your child have been exposed to or have developed symptoms of COVID-19, we ask to please refrain from bringing them to school and remain in quarantine for a two-week period along with calling the center to notify that your child has been exposed to COVID-19. . 

• When bringing your child to school, we ask parents to wear a face covering when dropping them off at the gate if possible. 

• Please sign-in AND sign-out your child at the time they attend school, please sanitize before signing. 

What to do if your child is sent home or cannot attend school due to COVID-19

• If your child displays the following symptoms: fever, chills, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath, and sore throat, please keep your child at home for at least 48 hours without the same symptoms. Your child will be able to return to school after the 48-hour period if they do not display the particular symptoms listed above. 

• If your child displays these symptoms while attending school, they will be isolated and asked to be picked up as soon as possible. They will be able to return to school after the 48-hour period if they no longer display COVID-19 like symptoms. 

• If your child or a family member have been exposed to COVID-19, we recommend getting tested immediately. We also ask for your child to self quarantine or isolate for at least 14 days regardless of being symptomatic or asymptomatic. 

COVID-19 Classroom Procedures

• Outside objects from home such as sippy cups, water bottles, etc. will be asked to be kept at home, they will not be allowed on the premises. 

• Parents are not allowed to enter the inside of the classroom. 

• Classes will practice COVID-19 safe measures such as: 

  • Modifications of sensory play, individual play stations that will be immediately sanitized after use

  • Physical distancing/social distancing within the classroom

  • All students will have to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds upon classroom entry and re-entry, before eating their breakfast, lunch, and two snacks, and after indoor and outdoor playtime. 

  • Teachers will use a mild sanitizing spray during the day and a strong disinfectant spray each night on all commonly touched surfaces, toys, etc.
